CASES TESTIMONIES

Among other cases managed under Arms of Liberty project below are some of the feedback from the survivors:

• Anness Fikison is 54 and is residing from Zamula village in TA Chimutu Lilongwe. She provides her remarks after being allowed to purchase the farm equipment in the farm subsidy program and a compensation of 10 bags of maize after her National ID was sold by her son which was in violation of her economic rights and committed an emotional violence. “without the help of the CMC members intervening and managing the case I would not have managed to buy the materials”. Currently the ID was given back to Anness.

• Patricia Chinyama is aged 16 and is residing from Mthyoka Village in TA Chimutu Lilongwe. She provides how the she has been helped by the CMC members in following her case on early child marriage and child support. She got pregnant but the father did not want to bare responsibilities later along he dumped her and disappeared. Currently the father of the child is providing support for the baby’s welfare.

• Esnart Gosia aged 37 and widowed, residing from Mwachulutsa village TA Tsabango Lilongwe, provides are feedback of her economic violence case where she was denied property that was left by her husband. After the intervention of the CMC members of the Arms of Liberty project the case was followed up. Currently Esnart has been handed over the property and she is settling in very well with her children.
