PROGRESS MONITORING
For a successful life, or successful business, measure what you want to improve says Jerry Bruckner. In line with results from the baseline survey, Foundation for Rural Development conducted monitoring activities and data collection exercise with an aim to track and measure progress of the Arms of Liberty project implemented with Funding from the by UN Women under the Women Peace Humanitarian Fund and Spotlight Initiative. Among these activities field visits, data collection as well as mid-line impact evaluation survey were conducted.
From these efforts the project in line with its objectives, the below are the indicated achievement:
• Promoted victims’ rights to privacy. e.g. Creation of Case Management Committees which has brought sanity in the way cases are managed.
• Established standards for social impact measurement and data base management. e.g. creation of the standard score card for measuring the social impact.
• Promoted cooperation among Women in Uniform. e.g. by creating the working synergies and networks amongst women in uniform which are increasing the efforts to lobby and advocate for a change in policy direction.
• Women and Men in Uniform capacity building. e.g. training manual development and trainings conducted.
• Promoted inter-institutional awareness Raising campaigns. e.g. outreach campaigns conducted in the impact areas.
• Promoted the cooperation of community based organizations. e.g. Grouping of 60 CBOs and integrating them to Case Management Committees.
• Capacity for CBO members from the impact areas has been strengthened through trainings.
• The project has recorded 209 cases and has managed to promote the CBO partnership with the project to manage, analyse, and store data appropriately. The CBO’s are in a position to ably follow up the established system which has readily available information on the recorded cases.
